WebI've used Altium quite a bit and after switching back and forth to get a feel for both options I landed on exclusively using polygons for all plane layers. Editing the poly shapes is definitely easier. But I also found rules driven design went smoother with polys over planes. I just found defining rules/constraints on polys a little more intuitive.
